Eurovision
Although I don't especially like the song, or the singer, I was impressed enough by Daz Sampson's confidence in himself to put a bet on him getting somewhere in the first six in tonight's Eurovision contest.
I preferred The Netherland's entry but they didn't get through the semi-final. Boo!

Yeah, he was confident, but the geo-historical-political facts are against us; unlike the Scandinavian and East European nations, we only really have one neighbour likely to vote for us (Ireland) since France are still upset that English has again become the defacto lingua of Eurovision. That said, maybe that will change eventually. After all, for decades, Ireland never gave us anything, for geo-historical-political reasons... and now we're all friends.
